Since forming GKAI in 1995, Martin Haslett Grounds has gained recognition as one of the most talented and knowledgable resort architects in Indonesia.

Having studied and graduated Architecture at the University of Western Australia, Martin went on to work for Warwick Bloomfield Architects in Perth. 

Then moving to London in 1975, he worked for Mathews Ryan and Partners until 1978. After this time he returned to Perth to start his own practice - Martin Grounds Architects. Later partnering with Jack Kent on the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay project, GKA and GKAI were born. 

Always an adventurous spirit, Martin's hobbies include snorkelling, scuba diving and yachting. And recently proving he is as determined as it was some 25 years ago when he landed on Bali's shores, Martin competed in last year's prestigious Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. 

The backbone of the office, Vera takes care of everything and everyone. 

With GKAI since the beginning in 1995, Vera handles admin, finance, accounts, suppliers and HR, all the while magically making sure everything runs smoothly and happily in the GKAI studio.

The culinary queen of Indonesian food, in her spare time Vera enjoys cooking up local delights - her Manadonese food cannot be rivalled! 

Graduating from the University of Atma Jaya Jogjakarta, Agus joined the team at GKAI in 1996, having previously worked for Multi Karya Consultant in Jogyjakarta, and then PT. Duta Graha Indah in Jakarta.

As a Project Architect and hailing from Tabanan, Bali, Agus has an in-depth knowledge of Balinese construction and is reponsible for running large-scale projects in the GKAI studio.

A detailed but zen man, in his time out Agus enjoys meditation, as well as tinkering with auto mechanics and other such machinery that no-one else understands.

Graduating from The National Institute of Technology in Malang, Ratna first joined GKAI in 2005 for six years. Her quest to work on high rise buildings then saw her move to Jakarta and work for Airmas Asri Architects for a period.

Rejoining us in 2011, Ratna has brought her invaluable talents as a Project Architect and on-site co-ordination skills back to the team.

Known for her love of the great outdoors, some of Miss Setyaningsih's enviable passtime activities include hiking, fishing, snorkeling, camping, photography and globe-trotting.

Holding the key to GKAI facts and figures, our Accountant Irna controls the purse strings of the company, which means everyone is nice to her. 

Originally from the stunning island of Flores, Irna graduated from STIESIA Surabaya before working at PT. Bahtera Mandiri Artakelola in Jakarta for a number of years. 

In between her role at GKAI and taking care of her gorgeous little girl at home, Irna's time is pretty stretched, but she does tell us that once upon a time she enjoyed travelling.
